Knoxville STEM Academy
The L&N STEM Academy is a unique, standalone magnet high school with an integrated focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The hallmarks of this new school are partnership, innovation, opportunity, and excellence. The ninth and tenth grade years at L&N STEM Academy will be centered on an interdisciplinary STEM core that will provide students with a strong platform in STEM disciplines. This core will also allow students to develop skills in critical thinking, which they will constantly apply through hands-on learning. In eleventh and twelfth grades, students will experience expanded learning opportunities, including dual-credit coursework at the University of Tennessee and Pellissippi State Technical Community College. These expanded learning opportunities will culminate in internships and apprenticeships with area STEM professionals, who are actively engaged in cutting-edge STEM-related work, at local assets such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory and STEM-related corporations and non-profit organizations.

West High School International Baccalaureate Program

West High School is the first high school in Knox County to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and only the 11th high school in the state of Tennessee to have this program. In addition, West High School has always had one of the strongest AP programs in the county, and this program will only be strengthened with the implementation of International Baccalaureate. At West High School students are provided a safe, orderly, and respectful learning enviornment that fosters open-minded and caring young people. Exposure to a diverse, international curriculum enriches students' educational experiences and provides a strong foundation for future success in higher education.

Fulton High School, School of Communications
The School of Communications is the biggest school in Fulton, which makes sense, because the information industry employs, in one way or the other, half of American workers. What kinds of jobs can you find in the communications business?: Advertisers, journalists, teachers, technical writers, photographers, radio and television broadcast, sales, marketing, web designers, game designers, and so many more. If you are a problem solver, a team player, a natural leader, a decision maker, a creative thinker then join the magnet program at Fulton High School's School of Communications.

The Magnet Program provides opportunities for families to exercise "School Choice" in the educational decision-making process.  Students discover, explore, and refine their talents and interests while focusing on academic excellence. The Knox County Magnet Program consists of three elementary schools: Beaumont Fine Arts &Honors Magnet Academy, Green Math & Science Magnet Academy and Sarah Moore Greene Technology Magnet Academy; one middle school: Vine Middle Performing Arts & Sciences Magnet School; and three high school:  Austin-East Magnet High School, Knoxville STEM Academy, and the International Baccalaureate program at West High School.

Beaumont Fine Arts and Honors Magnet Academy

Beaumont is the only elementary school featuring an Honors Program and a Museum Program for students. It partners with 7 area museums; East Tennessee Historical Society, Ramsey House, Knoxville Zoo, McClung, Ijams, American Museum of Science and Energy, and the Knoxville Museum of Art to create an innovative learning experiece for all students.

Students also participate in an enriching curriculum in instrumental music, vocal music, and visual arts and performing arts that supports classroom instruction.

There is a testing requirement for the Beaumont honors program. Students must score in the 90th percentile or higher on a nationally recognized assessment given by the Magnet Department.

Green Math and Science Magnet Academy

Green combines an interest in mathematics an/or science with real world investigations for the curious student. Green houses a math lab and a science lab that provide students the opportunities to explore, observe, predict, and write about experiences as they relate to the real world. They also partner with Americorp and the Discovery Center to support learning.

Sarah Moore Greene Technology Magnet

Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Technology Academy incorporates technology as a tool into every aspect of learning. At Sarah Moore Greene, our focus is on communications and media. Students have the opportunities to utilize document cameras, digital cameras, video cameras, Active Boards, and participate in Video Conferencing, video editing, and animation. There is also an onsite television production studio where students operate daily news broadcasts that they prepare and present. It also has the following technology labs:
  •  Instruction Lab-students learn computer and software operations and programs that reinforce classroom skills
  •  Advanced Computer Lab-students are exposed to various computer activities such as robotics, Claymation, Lego League and publishing

Vine Middle Performing Arts and Sciences Magnet

Vine Middle Performing Arts and Sciences Magnet School offers middle school students unique opportunities to take their art to the stage. Our After School Academy gives the students opportunities to extend the classes they take during the day after hours. Students participating in the After School Academy have the opportunity to participate in: Dance Company (Modern and West African), West African drums, Art Honors Soceity, Orchestra, Band, Video Production, Lego League and Academic Programs.

Austin-East High School

Austin-East High School is a natural step for the continuation of the performing arts and sciences offered at Vine Middle Performing Arts and Sciences Magnet School, as well as, a beginning opportunity for new students entering high school. Austin-East students have the opportunities to participate in many exciting courses and programs.

In Performing Arts, classroom teachers are artists teaching technique, performance, and exhibition skills in the selected art form.  Students are able to produce their own original pieces of work and participate in school and community performances.

Austin East provides a diverse and rich dance experience to high school students. We offer ballet, modern, tap, West African dance and drumming. The students perform both student and faculty choreography and train with guest artists year round.

In the fall the members of the Austin East Dance Company perform in a concert of student choreography called "Voices." In the spring, Beaumont, Vine, and Austin East collaborate for their annual dance and drumming showcase at Austin East.
