Recent ActivityMagnet school transfer window is now open Showcase, Open House dates announced
 The Knox County Schools has announced its 2013-14 magnet school transfer window is open now through February 18, 2013. Magnet programs offer a choice in the educational process by presenting innovative and unique curricula integrated into everyday learning. Programs are committed to increasing educational opportunities for students while promoting students’ interests, abilities and talents. As part of the fiscal year 2013 budget process, $520,000 was allocated to support magnet programs across the Knox County Schools. Transfer requests can be completed online at www.knoxschools.org. Forms are also available at any magnet school location. The general transfer window is Feb. 4 – 18, 2013. Additionally, the annual “Magnet Showcase” will be held at the Knoxville Museum of Art on Tuesday, December 4 from 4:30 – 7 p.m. Each magnet school will have information available about the school's program, eligibility and more. Following the Magnet Showcase, open house dates have been scheduled for each Knox County magnet school. Teachers, administrators, and magnet staff will be available to provide tours and answer any questions about specific programs available at each school. Magnet showcase: December 13, 2012 and May 7, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. • Sarah Moore Greene Technology Magnet Academy
Open house: Tuesday, December 11 from 8:30-11 a.m., Wednesday, December 12 from noon-2 p.m., and Thursday, December 13 from 4-6 p.m. Middle Schools
